It's a new year, and I can start with our 100th post!!! Ihope y'all check back often during this year to see how we are doing in Tx. The last few years we have had a new years day tradition where I have a box the we fill with fun "predictions" that we think will happen during the year. Then on New years eve we read them and see what happened and what didn't. Although it is a LOT of fun making the predictions- it isn't so fun to read them at the end of the year. This year I am trying to keep the box out the whole year and we will put in things we have accomplished, big events, cute things the kids say... and then read it on New Years Eve! We will see how that goes.
The first thing in our box this year...
January 1st: we went to Huntsville State Park to go hiking!
It wa so fun and the weather was beautiful, not hot, just cool enough for a jacket. It wasn't crowded and thw scenery very peaceful. The kids loved the adventure and kept running ahead to find "clues" such as orange ribbon tied to the trees (for hunting days) Owl holes, (they saw an owl in every hole) and look for "Callipiters" - no I didn't spell it wrong- that's it how they pronounce it. we didn't see any alligators- in fact we didn't see any wildlife except for a woodpecker, I think they were all hiding from the hunters still. I forgot the camera again- sorry- I guess you will all just have to come and see us this year so we can take you in person and show you around :)
We would also like to issue an invitation 2 years in advance... Come spend Christmas at our house in the year 2012!!! Brooklyn will be turning 8 and will baptized at christmas time, plus we will get to have a real fireworks show for y'all.
