Our Attic Project

Ty has been wanting what probably every electrical engineer wants for a long time.  A good sound system! To celebrate a long awaited, and much deserved raise at work we rewarded him with the system for surround sound ... assembly required.  a LOT of assembly, a LOT of HOT SWEATY assembly!  Our house is designed to keep heat our of the house by directing it through the attic and out of our roof, and we  live in a humid environment, so this was hot sweaty work, but worth the effort.  Here is Ty in our smallest area of the attick digging under our insulation to pinpoint where we needed to make the 8 inch holes in our ceiling.

And only one small hole going into the closet in our hall for the wires. Every house with an engineer needs an entire linen closet dedicated to electrical equipment right? Where's yours?

We could pretend it was snow if it wasn't so itchy :)

This will be our next attic project.  This is the area over our garage and the tallest standing space with a good 10 -15 feet of room to stand.  WE will open an access from our garage and lay down wood to make a floor, then store items than can withstand the 120 ++ degree temps here in the summer like holiday decorations, sleeping bags, naughty kids (just kidding), and toilet paper (not kidding)

I was standing on the ladder to get this picture, this is the middle area of our attic with about 6 -7 feet of standing  room at the tip.  Can someone please explain... why oh why is the water heater and all the water pipes in my attic! This baffles me as to why it could possibly be a better solution.
So now we have an AWESOME sound system in our living room.  What would you watch with it first? Tyson chose Spongebob Squarepants.  No- the kids weren't home from school yet -that's just how fun and cool my hubby is.

What a fun treat. I probably would choose Lord of the Rings but that's just me. And congrats to Ty on the raise. That's great.
