A Faux Fall

Fall is, by far, my most favorite season! I love the leaves changing colors, the pumpkins on porches, wearing sweaters, and taking a deep breath of the cool crisp air.  Here in TX, I have decided to settle for a faux fall.  It still can get up to 100 degrees outside!!! Seriously it is almost October! I'm sure it is ready to snow in Idaho.  A few weeks ago we had a tropical storm move in over louisana which sent some good cool breezes our way and my kids even had one day they wore a jacket to school, but the cool weather did not last. But, it still will eventually cool off. In the meantime, I got a fall sign to put by my door, a fall wreath, a few decorations in my house and I light fall scented candles and turn down to the air conditioner in my house.  I can even look out the window and see fall leaves, because although it is crazy.. the trees still know it is fall time and change colors despite the high temperatures :)
Ty has been working really hard on his Ultimate Bike Computer.  You can see here has got a prototype outer cover made.  It looks really cool!
 Sunday was a special day at our house as it was Ty's birthday!  But it was also Rusty's Birthday! (that's the great thing about twins!) and we were lucky enough to have them both here together this weekend for them to celebrate it together.  It was fun showing Rusty around, and of course the boys went biking as much as they could.
 WE went on a short boat ride and got to feed the fish and ducks.  The fish were fast and crazy determined to get the crackers before the ducks got them.  I kept waiting for my kids heads to topple over into the water! I let them play until I thought I would go crazy watching them and pulling them back.
 My crazy cute kids on the boat
 I got the guys an ice cream cake from coldstone.  I opted for profesionals this time. They chose mint chocolate chip ice cream with chocolate chip, oreos, and gummy bears mixed in.  These guys were so fun... Ty got Rusty a bag of gummy bears, and Rusty got Ty and bag of gummy worms.
 Sunday morning came with the two dressing in matching outfits... no it wasn't planned! They didn't even realize it until we were headed out to church, so I snapped a quick picture.
I have had a lot of the Earl boys at my house this summer, and I am sure grateful for a good Mom who raised them so well.  I really enjoyed having both Chaun and Rus stay with us. I saw this poem the other day and copied it to share here.  It doesn't say who the author is, but I liked it!

Mother of Twins Prayer

There's two to wash, There's two to dry;

There's two who argue, There's two who cry.

One's in the mud, Having a ball;

The other holds a crayon... Another marked wall.

... Some days seem endless, My patience grows thin.

Why did God choose me To be a mother of twins?

The answer comes clear- At the end of the day,

As I tuck them in bed And to myself I say...

There's two to kiss, There's two to hug;

And best of all, Thank You, God, for two to love.

Thanks Michelle for sharing Rusty for the weekend!!! And a huge thanks to Ty's parents for raising such good sons!
