Happy Birthday Tanner!!

4 years ago this very morning Tanner was born into our family! I went into labor too early because of an infection. He was only 35 weeks but later estimated to be only 33 weeks. It was a wild ride with trying the meds. to stop labor and then after 12 hours deciding that I was going to have this baby anyway and then speeding labor back up! He never kicked or moved much while I was pregnant and when he came out the cord was wrapped three times around his neck! I am constantly reminded of how much the Lord looks out for his children.
He born before he developed the sucking reflex, so he stayed in the NICU for 10 days with a feeding tube while we worked on teaching him how to nurse and eat. He was actually prettty chunky for a preemie- he weighed 5 lbs. 7 ounces and was 16 inches long. He came home just in time to see his daddy graduate with his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering and move to Casper WY!

Tanner Today is the Ultimate BOY! HE LOVES snails, spiders, beetles, ALL bugs, Cars, Trains, Airplanes, Dragons, Dinosaurs and teasing his sisters without mercy. I always hear him growling around the house and the girls screaming. He loves to wrestle and get tickled. When I pretend to eat him, he tells me where all the best "parts" are. He loves to cuddle when he is tired and still wakes up during the night to crawl in bed with Mom and Dad. If I wake up to put him back in bed he says "But I just love you and want to be with you" 99% of the time, I cave and let him stay - how can you say no to pupppy eyes at 4:00 AM?
He likes to be called: Tanner, Tantor, Tantanija, Tantinator, Tan the Man, and Superman.
We celebrated a day early because Ty will be out of town today and tomorrow, but no one minded one bit!

Tanner has wanted a "dragon birthday" ever since he saw "How to train your dragon". He got his wish and got dragon toys as well as dragon pajamas that comes with a detachable Hood and Cape. Yes- he is still wearing them and I don't know when I will be able to get them off!
Ty got Tanner a Dragon Cake from the store. We rarely ever have "real" cake in the house, but I never realized how rare! We brought it out and
Tanner said "What's that?"
Mom and Dad: "It's Birthday Cake! Do you want some"
(He got a piece and tasted the frosting)
Tanner:"I don't like it!"
I gave him some more today and he tasted a little more of the frosting but wouldn't even touch the cake part. Poor kid living in his sisters' allergy free world, but he doesn't seem to be missing anything! HAHA So why is his cake already 2/3 gone? I plead the 5th, and will be using the treadmill more often this week ;)
How we love our little man!

Here is the girls making their own slices of "cake" They had a blast and didn't miss "real" cake either.
