Lessons learned

I am in the middle of two different root canals. One bottom molar on each side of my mouth. One is almost done- it has a temporary filling and hopefully will get a crown and be done soon. The other is still drilled out and stuffed with cotton I change everyday- yes it is painful and gross- I did this with the previous tooth as well. Last year I went to the dentist because I had some teeth hurting, they did an x-ray (the kind that rotates around your head) pronounced my teeth perfectly fine and did some sealings to see if that helped them not hurt so much. Well, it DIDN'T - it continued to hurt until tyson finally said- "you are going to a new dentist!" he called and made me an appt. This time they did a better x-ray (the giant thing you stick on your mouth and that cuts your gums) It turns out my teeth had been rotting for a very long time from the INSIDE. in fact it was so bad that in one tooth the root had calcified (like a pearl does) and the other actually had a great big crack in the inside. YUCK!
Why am I sharing all the GORY details?... because we are here on this earth to learn from our experiences...This reminds me of Sin and Repentance. When we sin (like not flossing enough) we need to take care of it the right way, by the right source. we can't just "cover it up" (sealing teeth) and suppose that you are going to be fine...we need to go to our heavenly Father and repent (a good dentist)- don't just say sorry to anyone (like a crappy dentist- who couldn't see the bigger problem) you might just be rotting on the inside. So there ya go- my yucky teeth taught us a good lesson. how would you interpret this?
Lesson two:
We just got our car fixed: The engine light came on a few weeks ago and we got the "thingy" (sorry- ty will laugh- but I can't remember the name) that tells you what is wrong- and it was our O2 Valve . WE decided it was fine until we needed to get our car registered (and pass inspection) well- it is now time - so we got the car fixed, the guy who did it also took the time to recharge the airconditioner also. WOW the car is running great! and the air conditioner actually gets COLD!! and the car has so much more power than before! WHOO HOO! Ty decided that this is like a small habit forming sin that may be small at first- infact so small you may not even notice it. until it becomes a BIG problem. WE never even noticed that the car was running worse little by little or that air conditioner was not really cold-we just figured it was the texas heat. So there ya go again! Boy- we are learning a lot- I wish we could learn these things an easier - less painful- way ;)
