Our camp site
So -Camp was a TON of fun! and I can't wait until next year- If you call and talk to me- I will be happy to talk your ear off for a while about my weekend. I added a poem ( i made for the girls) for those who would rather read it instead! Ty did such a good job with the kids that I think they prefer that he babysit all the time! The house was sparkling clean when I got home too- I was soo impressed. He even took the time to buy and plant some beautiful plants in my front yard for me- the Heat had scorched my other flowers and he found some that will tolerate the heat quite well- I can't remember the name of one (a small pink and white flower) - but the others are Hostas- they have large leaves(no flower) that are green on the edges, white in the middle and a little pink in the center- they are sooo pretty! What a good hubby I have! I will post a pic when can remember to take some !;) So here is my Girls Camp Poem!
Ode To Girls Camp 2009
Young Women’s Girls camp 2009
Starting out, we hoped would be fine
Kylee – “poor thing” had to go to Hawaii ;)
And Chelsey was home having a party
So with four girls we set out for adventure
For a special experience, we knew we would treasure
Wednesday we left- Pizza we did eat
Then we set out, braving the heat
The day was HOT at 100 degrees
The tootsie rolls we brought melted like cheese
The girls got certified all in one day
So the rest of the time, we were free to play
Shelby and Maddie made quite a good team
The Armadillos in their tent made them scream
Bedtime that night never did come
We heard the girls talking WAAAY past one!
On Thursday our hike really was early
We hardly could see the clock said 5:30
We heard special messages along the way
Then we all checked our schedules for a full day
In the morning were projects with lip gloss and painting
Water Volleyball soaked the girls who were “baking”
The Girls swam at the pool and went down the slides
Who knew the “roughing it” would come with rides?
There were a few lifeguards the first years ignored
But the older girls’ radar for boys was in store
Sara and Emma, our “almost first years”
Had lots of fun, though the food brought them to tears
Since they could come, just for the day
They stopped for fast food to “Have it their way”
A skit we did plan at the end of the day
It was rewarded “most random” by doing it this way
Sister Rascon worked hard and did toil
A musical planned to fill our lamps with oil
The fireside was special, the spirit we felt
The music was grand, our hearts did melt
Chandra was thrilled she could swim in the night
And instead of sleep…a party was in sight
Friday Morning we slept clear until seven
A nice comfy bed was sounding like heaven
We played apples to apples and, Boy, it was Fun!
We laughed and played cards to stay out of the sun
It was easy to win if you had the right card
Although the best definition was sometimes quite hard
Some things we did learn, Sariah’s “Boy Crazy”
A Point you could earn, if your card read “Sean Connery”
The afternoon was filled with lessons and the pool
Then we went back to camp “10 things” was cool
Sister’s Waldron and Dibb came up for a visit
We really are glad that they didn’t miss it
We learned the Erica was born in the shower
That- we agree- Is Pure Woman Power
Bishop Galloway came up with his wife
For a testimony meeting we’ll remember for life
The spirit was strong, we all did our part
To share our testimonies right from the heart
Then we stayed up late and ate chocolate candy with s’mores
We had so much fun, we attracted other wards!
Jade came for a visit after saying ‘goodbye’
Her ward will be sad, we hope they don’t cry
But we’re really excited she’s now part of us
So stealing her away is really a must
Eventually Saturday had to arrive
We had so much fun it brought tears to our eyes
The mosquitoes were few, thanks to the breeze
But other bugs made up the bites with ease
The Fire ants did sting all of our feet
Next year we’ll be ready to deal with those beasts
We were dirty and sweaty and didn’t go to bed
And we all had camp songs stuck in our heads
There is so much to say, so much more fun that we had
But to make this poem longer would surely be bad
So camp was THE BEST, we sure learned a LOT
We can’t wait ‘till next year
SO SAVE US A COT!!!!!

That is the sweetest little poem! ha that must have taken forever to write. I have to get my camp pictures up. You inspired me-just don't expect a poem. :)
I just read a lot of your posts!! Haha I'm still laughing about pooping on the lawn.
