Snips and Snails...

Last year Tanner was facinated by millipeds, earlier this year he loved his snails (if you check our blog often - you read about his snails already...) but lately , and with all the rain, his fancy has turned to SLUGS! Gross! He even has the girls out finding them for him. THe girls won't touch them- they think they are too slimy, but tanner keeps them in a little jar, right now he has 6. He never ceases to amaze me at just how different he is than the girls.
He is also an expert an using crocodile tears whenever he doesn't get his way, it is soo hard to stick to the punishment of biting his sister when he says, through his tears, "pees, I say Sorry!"

I finally convinced him to put one of the snails in some salt, tellin ghim how it would bubble. But when he tried it, the darn thing just plain died without any show. Tanner quickly got bored and decided to keep the rest as pets. Maybe only snails bubble in salt?
Brooklyn had a contact reaction to milk tonight. She was getting me a surprise (cup of milk) when it spilled and then led to hives on her arm and hand. There are SOO many different kinds of reactions, it is hard to explain without an hour or so to do it why this concerns me soo much. Previously she has only vomited if she ate milk, a few weeks ago she had an (almost) anaphlactic reaction when she accidentaly sipped Tanners milk, with hives and an itchy tounge and throat. But I was really hoping it would end there- her contact reaction ,meaning it did not come in contact with any "mucosal membrane" (under the skin or in mouth, eyes, etc...) , means her reactions are getting worse. This is when we have to rethink about having milk in the house and what she can be around.
